Red sauce

You'll need: 
  • 400g fresh or canned tomatoes;
  • 2 tbsp water;
  • 1 onion;
  • 2 cloves garlic;
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice;
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard;
  • 2 tbsp oil;
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar;
  • 1 tsp chilli powder;
  • Salt and pepper.
  • Fry the chopped onion and garlic to golden brown.

  • Add all the remaining ingredients to the pan and cook covered for 20 mins.

  • This sauce can be served both hot and cold with cold or char-grilled Biovela Mom’s fried meatballs or patties.
