Fresh cabbage bake or a new twist on cabbage leaf rolls

You'll need:
  • 300g Biovela Mom’s fried meatballs or patties;
  • 500ml milk or meat stock;
  • 30g flour;
  • 40g butter;
  • 1 cabbage;
  • 1 tsp unsweetened condensed milk;
  • Salt and white pepper.
  • Nutmeg.
  • Parboil the cabbage in salted water, adding sugar and a drop of vinegar.

  • Roll a Biovela meatball or patty in each cabbage leaf.

  • Line a greased baking dish with tomato slices, arrange the cabbage rolls on top and cover with one more layer of tomato slices.

  • Pour over the Béchamel sauce made from butter, flour and milk and season with a few gratings of nutmeg.

  • Cook in the oven for 25 mins. Tomatoes can be easily replaced with a tomato sauce and single cream dressing.

The dish goes best with boiled potatoes when hot and with our sauces when cold.
